  • Blanket treatments are given and unnecessary procedures are dished out routinely to cover protocol.

  • We are told that the “doctor always knows best”, and asked to default to their expertise. The problem with this is they’re trained to look at birth from a techno-medical standpoint, not from the natural and physiological process it is.

  • This thinking hijacks the natural approach and can make mothers feel like their desires and intuition need to take a back seat.

  • Without a role, fathers are not empowered to make decisions as leaders of their household or given opportunities to step into parenthood confidently.

  • Inconsistency doesn't foster trust. From doctors, midwives, and nurses, families are rarely able to see the same healthcare providers and support people throughout their childbearing journey

FAQs

  • We offer a gentle Christian approach in hopes that people from all walks of life would enjoy learning about the evidence for a physiological birth. We do not exclude people who are not Christians, everyone is welcome to join us!

  • Yes, everything was designed with hospital births in mind. The first unit of The Original Design course discusses maternity care practices in the techno-medical model and how to navigate them for a physiological birth.

  • The course portion of this program takes a total of 5hrs to finish from start to finish. The good new is it's self-paced, so you can start and stop, picking up where you left off.

  • You do not need to be near us to benefit from our Doula services, we serve families all over the world with our virtual service options.

  • I do travel up to a 2-hour radius from Perry, GA to offer clients in-person services. Any further than 2 hours increases the risk of me missing your birth due to traffic, personal delays, or a quick birth of your baby.
